Go Carly! Carly Fiorina should run for the Republican nomination for President. Even if she does not get the nomination her presence, presumably running mainly against Hillary and not the other republican primary candidates, will serve a useful purpose. As pointed out in a Wall Street Journal piece today:
On Monday Ms. Fiorina highlighted the difficulty Mrs. Clinton would have running a race without the ability to “play the gender card” or rail about a “war on women.” In that case, argued the former CEO, the campaign would be fought on the less forgiving terrain of substantive debate.
Go Carly! Repeat your focus comments such as “Like Hillary Clinton, I too have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles around the globe,” said Ms. Fiorina last month. “But unlike Hillary Clinton, I know that flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.” What has Hillary accomplished other than deleting 30,000 emails after Congressional committees had asked for them?
Go Carly! Run and take away the traditional democrat mantra that the GOP is a party of “old white guys.” And run because you are someone who can frame issues from a non-Washington perspective, and do so clearly.
Will she get knocked for the performance of Hewlett-Packard under her leadership? Sure, but there is more to that story than the trouble HP had during that period. Will she get knocked for being pro-life? Sure, but she can handle that.
Is Carly Fiorina my candidate? Heck no, not at present. I just think she is an excellent addition to the mix for the good of the country and she should run if for no other reason than that. Go Carly!
